Biofuels keep fossil fuels in the ground and somewhat offset CO2 emissions. Biofuels help farmers get a good price for their product and supply nobs for down stream processors. Biofuels can also advance degradable bioplastics research.

As one who believes climate change is a major concern (regardless of the cause,) I would like to see every new model introduced as a flex-fuel vehicle, so that it is easier for an average citizen to show an effort. I backed that up in my last purchase.

Also, please research ethanol based fuel cells. They could be far more green and efficient than electric cars using batteries.

Ethanol is the way to go! Just make ethanol fuel available - my Honda CRV runs just fine on E-20, and it is not a flex fuel vehicle. But it is very difficult to find ethanol fuel for sale. Making more flex-fuel vehicles are much needed, and would encourage more manufacturing and distribution of ethanol fuel. Many people would buy ethanol vehicles even though it is hard to find fuel for them just to help out the planet. Actually, things are so bad right now, we must do whatever we can with whatever we've got to mitigate climate change and environmental destruction. Manufacture ethanol, hydrogen, & electric vehicles and supply the respective fuel for them. The real revolution will not be just one kind of fuel for one kind of engine in the future. The energy revolution will be choice where the consumer can choose from an array of fuels and vehicle models optimized for them. In a world where oil is becoming more scarce and more expensive to manufacture and where gasoline car sales are less and less, car manufacturers can seize a business opportunity by expanding their markets to include alternative, clean powered vehicles and the fuels that drive them. An E-100 optimized engine, guaranteeing miles-per-gallon as good as gasoline, would sell like hotcakes since ethanol is a cheaper fuel than gasoline. Ethanol is the fuel which can be utilized right now to begin this new energy revolution. It currently is the cheapest, easiest, and fastest renewable, sustainable, alternative fuel which can be produced for vehicles already on the road and those to come in a fossil free future. Ethanol can kick-start vehicle manufacturers onto the road of diverse clean-powered, multi-kinds of vehicles, sustaining them there as new and diverse kinds of fuel and vehicles are developed during the "energy revolution". We just need manufacturers to build ethanol engines and to encourage legislators to remove outdated and unfair laws and regulations in the way of ethanol fueled vehicles , eth

Great idea! I fully support this. My vehicle has a $500 box that allows it to run E85 or any mix. I bought it from alcoholcanbeagas.com (change could be done in software at factory)

I've been running only E85 in my converted 87 Toyota pickup for over ten years. My wife and I were recently in the market for a new car. We could not find a Flex Fuel in the size of car we were looking for, so we bought a used Ford Focus. I'm a car mechanic and I know it takes very little to make any car Flex Fuel.
I will never buy a car that doesn't run on at least 85% ethanol.

I know your engineers support higher octane fuel and higher ethanol blends. I also realize that incumbent forces influence government policy on this issue. Please supply vehicles able to run on higher ethanol blends but also please weigh in on government regulations that make distribution of higher blends impossible. Corporate responsibility and climate calls on you to support forgotten rural economies and less toxic, better liquid fuels. We can't reasonably electrify all means of transportation.

The Canadian and US automarkets are integrated. All the good things happening in the US spill over and vice versa. Automakers must be part of the solutions, not part of the problem.

We need to be able to incorporate biofuels into our fuel supply to address climate change. Vehicles we buy need to be able to use high blends of biofuels.

Petroleum based products should be eliminated to the greatest extent possible, for may reasons. Make it possible to use ethanol as a replacement.

If automakers tune cars, trucks and other vehicles to run more efficiently using Ethanol, U.S. consumers can benefit from the home-grown, renewable fuels, instead of just supercharged Indy cars. If Indy cars run on ethanol, then why don't consumer sports cars? Broader availability of E-85 is necessary too.
