Why is Glenville stopping people from being active and healthy?

As a real estate agent, I am shocked and appalled that a town would prevent someone from enjoying the use of their own backyard. By instituting rules such as this is going to have my clients take a closer look at where they decide to live in the future. And that's a shame.

This moratorium is clearly being used to unfairly quash this league. The very nature of this moratorium appears to directly contradict the stated intent and objectives of the zoning code as defined in Chapter 270 sections 1 and 2. Specifically, where it states that the zoning code is to, "Encourage the establishment of additional parklands, open space, and recreational opportunities." Here you have a community run, low environmental impact group that promotes community and health. What could possibly be the threat to the "rural nature of the town" by allowing this league to continue? Prohibiting this usage goes against the very reason people enjoy living in rural communities which is to enjoy nature with friends and neighbors on their own property, which is exactly what it appears Mr. Hess is attempting to do.

Recreational sports are an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Outdoor play is essential to adults and children and should be encouraged, not hindered.

My brother has played with this league for years. These are good young men doing something fun that keeps them out of trouble. Come on Glenville - step up!

Omg...people playing an outdoor sports? That's devil talk. We'd rather people be inside shooting up the drugs rather than coming together as a community playing a scaled down version of America's past time. LET THEM PLAY BALL!!!

If people want to get outside and play a sport in their yard, we should probably let them...
