In 1981 Glenn Gould released his second recording of the Goldberg Variations. It was recorded in digital sound, at a time when digital was just beginning. So the quality is not very good. However. A backup of the recordings was done in the analogue format. Sony has taken these tapes and produced the Goldberg redbok (cd) "A state of wonder". This petition calls for the uncompressed release of that material for an "audiophile" release on double vinyl, sacd or download.
