Glastonbury is one of the largest towns in Hartford county with a population of over 33,000, and households of over 12,500. Per capita tax is ~30% more expensive than its neighboring towns.

Despite these statistics, Glastonbury Parks & Recreation's department runs summer programs in the hours of 9AM-3PM only, and leaves full-time working parents with limited and much more expensive private care options. Other neighboring towns, including ones with a fraction of Glastonbury's population and tax revenue, offer before & after care options for a range of summer programs. 

Glastonbury households with working parents deserve the same quality and affordable before & after care options as our neighboring towns enjoy.  We therefore request that Glastonbury Parks & Recreation add a before & after care program that will run from approximately 7:30AM-6PM starting in the summer of 2012.    Please feel free to email this out to all your friends and family.   Thank you for your support.
