World City or World Blight? Next time you walk, run, cycle or surf over a broken bottle ask what you can do.

The family is recycling other materials and we need to do it with glass as well. We can recycle up to 5 bottles per week.

HK needs glass recycling. Alternative measures, e.g. a heavy consumption tax on glass bottled consumables, are probably not politically or culturally feasible in HK. My household can recycle 5-10 bottles a week.

Hong Kong NEEDS a better glass recycling program to support their growth. I could recycle 5, 10 bottles per week

Every other developed nation provides recycling facilities for glass. We would recycle around 20 bottles & jars a month.

support Recycle glass in HK, Let's arouse the awareness of the HK ppl and the HK GOVERNMENT~~ without the support from government, it is hard to carry on. we can see that many residential estate have placed the recycling bins , but we will query if those rubbish really able to go to the recycle" step or just go to the landfill.

Please provide glass recycling collection points in more civic locations, there is no need for so much glass to be dumped in general waste

I am new to HK and am shocked at how little glass is recycled here compared to Europe.
I accidentally discovered your website whilst trying to find out where I could take the 50 or so glass bottles and jars I have accumulated since I moved here for recycling. My building management told me glass cannot be recycled in HK- thanks to you, I know otherwise. There is a collection point within reasonable distance and it just requires a bit of effort. I can now spread the word in my estate!
I average 5-6 bottles/ jars a week and in my estate there are prob. 1300 residents but only 1 bin each for plastic, metal and paper. If all the residential estates like mine had a glass collection bin a swell (and if the building management promoted glass recycling), imagine how much would be recycled?
Also we need to educate the domestic helpers - they are usually the ones taking care of rubbish disposal but I have seen them just chuck everything into general waste. Education, education, education please! (And pressure on HK Govt to keep progressing)
Thank you.

there's not enough glass recycling facilities! glass bottles are much heavier than plastic bottles, yet plastic could be recycled within metres from my house but i have to drag glass to miles away to the nearest facility! it's just so inconvenient! But I’m not giving up! Pls introduce more local recycling facilities so no one would have an excuse NOT to recycle!
