Parents-to-be should have it easy to choose a doula that either works in the area or lives in the area. They will always choose the best for them no matter where they live, but for some it may be important to find the closest doula to them.

All the new parents and future parents-to-bes deserve to have a choice of search for Doulas suitable for them based on their personal unique wishes... the map of location of local Doulas is one important one. But also it brings up the question of awareness of personal safety of Doula and their own families, if it showed their home address in the map?!

I do think this is important. I have had clients (one in particular) who was annoyed in how long it took her to find someone local. Many search sites now are map based and I believe that would be the way forward with regard to FAD.

This would make it fair and democratic, providing clients with a list of doulas wanting to work in their area AND seeing who is local.... crucial to birth support

I feel it is frustrating for clients using the present system who are looking for a doula near them especially in London where there are so many doulas. I also thinks it makes DUK look unprofessional.

I believe it is more satisfactory & safer for clients to be able to search for a doula who lives locally, particularly a birth doula.

I think a local search is so important, so that Mums have a choice of a doula living close to them, who knows the local community and can be available to the Mum at short notice.
