We, the undersigned, hereby attest to the following facts: We are loyal listeners of the Russ Martin Show, some of us for several years. We believe that everyone deserves a fair trial, and is innocent of a crime until proven guilty. We believe that Russ Martin should not be tried and sentenced in the Court of Public Opinion before he can receive his fair trial. We believe there are 3 sides to the story, his, hers and the truth, and we cannot know the circumstances personally of what went on at Russ\'s house on 07-14-08 or any other night for sure unless we were there. We believe that, if part or all of the allegations are true, that Russ Martin is human and deserves a chance to make amends for his wrongs, correct his dysfunctions and mistakes and be rehabilitated, just as most people convicted of a similar crime are usually afforded in the criminal justice system through probation. If this is the case, we do not condone Russ\'s actions, but we also know that no situation is \'black and white\' and we who are true, dedicated listeners understand that Russ is not an \'evil\' person, that his continued actions over the course of the last 7 years are a testament to his character, his care for innocent creatures in his work with Operation Kindness, the no-kill animal shelter, and his deep respect for those who serve and protect the public each and every day, as evidenced by his Foundation and his orchestration of the non-publicized September 11th Heroes Parade. We believe that if he is innocent, or if the allegations are true and he sincerely atones for his actions and makes an effort to change publicly, that he should be allowed to continue to do the job that has brought him success, the highest ratings in the market, millions of dollars to the station and its sponsors, and laughter and a sense of community to thousands of listeners day in and day out. If CBS radio fails to return Russ Martin to the airwaves (provided he meets the conditions above of either acquittal or sincere repentance), we hereby swear that we will cease listening to KLLI Live 105.3 or any of the CBS affiliated radio stations in this market indefinitely, and we will also boycott the advertisers/sponsors who continue to provide money to your stations. WE WANT RUSS MARTIN TO HAVE HIS DUE PROCESS, AND FOR THE CORPORATE MACHINE THAT IS CBS RADIO TO AVOID RUSHING TO CONCLUSIONS OR MAKING RASH DECISIONS IN ORDER TO PROTECT THEIR OWN ASSES AND PANDER TO AN UNINFORMED PUBLIC OPINION.
