The children are finally home with their parents. This resolution is the result of persistent pressure and the refusal to accept an unjust status quo. We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure this family receives the support they need as they move forward together.

Final supporters
Guled Farah and Farhia Gelle learned the hard way when they moved from Somalia to Winnipeg. They were told by CFS that they weren't fit parents due to "broken english" and two of their children were taken from them when one had an accident and went to the hospital. CFS would claim abandonment of the other two children in care which would stop the couple from ever getting their children back.
The parents have worked endlessly to follow protocols and take all the parenting courses they've been told to take. It has made no difference.
The couple has been told by CFS that if they go to the media or protest, they'll never see their children again. They've already gone 6 years without seeing them. This is a mob attitude the Manitoba government has, threatening parents that if they talked or spread their awareness they'd never see their children again. never see their children again. They've done everything they could and can no longer go along with this charade especially alone. They now stand and protest outside the Manitoba Legislative Building every single day. They've spoken to Premier Greg Selinger several times with no answers.
Manitoba CFS critic and MLA Ian Wishart has been working towards helping the couple, however it's hard to fight such a beast of big and heavy government regulation. This couple has nothing left and needs help. Their freedom of speech has been taken, their rights have been trampled and most of all, their children who they love dearly have been stolen from them.

How can someones children be taken away due to language barrier?! This seems unreal! Protect children that are in homes where they are abused daily, this is a waste of your resources and harmful to the children involved!!!
This is disgraceful! Children should only be removed from their parents if they are in danger or being neglected and abused! These are good parents! You have already probably given these children lifelong emotional and mental trauma. Give them back immediately.
every child needs their Hoyoo and Aboo! Not being able to speak English, nor lack of ability to understand the system should not make them a prey or any easy target!! Taking a children from their parents should be the last and only option!!
The worst thing you could ever see is a mother taken away her kids. Not heard or seen them for 6 years. Where is humanity, where is Canada's heart? Give this woman her children back. It's truly painful to watch a woman crying for her children!
My parents don't speak English properly but that didn't stop them from raising us six kids the right way. Four of us in post secondary and two are post secondary graduates as a nurse and engineer. Please return the kids.
Sad to see and hear such kind of treatment taking place in 21st century especially a place like Canada. People responsible for this baberic acts should be prosecuted and put away from suchlike position and bodies in the industry.

We are all human being and we do get accidents or mistakes. These parents deserve to consider their setuation and give their children back to them. They already had their challenge to adjust into Canadian life style. They don't need to be tortured more. Enough is enough.
