They are school-issued. Period. Stop worrying so much about clothing, and focus on teaching and learning.

Ugh this us unbelievable. Why should the girls have to control what they wear and it isn't the guys fault when they objectify women.

It's horrible how we have to dress a certain way just for boys not to be distracted. We don't get distracted when they show off their bodies. Why should we cover up when most of them don't ? If someone's comfortable wearing a certain type of clothing let them. It's restricting their freedom and showing men have more superiority than woman. That they have more advantages.

Cheerleaders wearing their uniforms on game days has been an American High School pastime, since as long as I know. My parents informed me that they remember the cheerleaders used to wear their uniforms on Fridays and bring spirit to the school too. It is unfair that the cheerleaders work and train so hard, to be told they can't wear the uniform that defines their sport. I see nothing wrong with the lengths of the uniforms, plus they wear spandex underneath their skirts, so nothing shows. Please take our petiti

It's school spirit, and like Taylor said it's been a tradition. Uniforms cost so much, so unless someone is willing to get both teams new ones, then the teams are stuck wearing whatever t-shirts they have received that vaguely show off the school spirit that DC is praised for. Sure, guys should learn to respect girls and whatnot, but honestly some girls need to see the difference between booty shorts and appropriate length shorts. I'm not saying to completely remove the dress code, but at least alter it so that students can express themselves while still being appropriate.

We shouldnt be taught the girls are distractions! Instead we should be learning more important things in life like how to write checks. Thats all we are taught now. Girls are distracting, girls are distractions if they wear short skirts/shorts, girls are distractions if they show bra straps. We are more than a distraction! We are human beings that are strong and powerful. Girls feel bad enough about their bodies we dont need to be called distractions and make out self confidence plumet. There may be equality but women are not considered equal in this world. Atleast let us have something we can control, our clothes. And stop telling us to stop labeling people and then be a hippocrite and label girls a distraction. Were more than a distraction!
