Much needed to reduce unsustainable car borne trips.

Really need this, it was just awkward having to go through lockerbie just to come back home from Uni.

Dumfries and Galloway is crying out for better transport links!

Visiting family would be much easier as would accessing this cultural hub.

We need more public transport. From Moniaive it's a long road to Edinburgh by train or bus. The train leaves from Lockerbie! So much for going green and using public transport, is twice as quick to go by car.

Much needed would be a real boost for an area that is so very badly served by transport links.

This would be be a vital boost to our economy and to the people living and looking for work in and around Dumfries.

Much needed, but can't see this government giving a flying.

11 miles separates Dumfries from Lockerbie - no distance at all in rail terms, especially compared with the recently re-opened Borders line. What a difference this would make.

It would be a fantastic thing for Dumfries & Galloway to have direct rail links to Glasgow and Edinburgh from Dumfries

Yes. Please give Dumfries the railway back. It's not only for Dumfries it is for Scotland. Tourism is one of our revenue generating industries.

With poor road links between Dumfries and Edinburgh it's pretty awful that there is no direct train.

An excellent idea.

Its vital this link is up as a near 3 hr bus journey is terrible for Dumfries to the capital. Also need a late night option as the 1800 back to Lockerbie is to early.

Link would benefit not just residents, but the many visitors to the area.
