Three teachers are now leaving and questions like "Why are they leaving?" "How can the university let them leave?" and most importantly "What is going to happen to our degree?" circle the networks of Kingston's music students. Not only the music technology course is being affected as the lecturers that are leaving have been doing admissions and other administrative tasks. It effects the whole department, students as well as the lecturers. For a while we have all felt that there is a need for a change, however, this is for the worse. We are all very sorry for the lecturers to leave. Although there is not much we can do about them, we now need the University to find us new lecturers that can support the course and its students. Kingston University's placement on the whole in the league tables are trending downwards in comparison our music department's placement, which is climbing up. We are doing better than other departments, so why is this happening? When David Osborne left we were all wondering who would take over and as far as we all know there is no head of the school? With the three now leaving we cannot be silent any longer, we need change and we need the people in charge to listen. This is the reason for this petition. We can all graduate from a course that lacks the present of support, but that is not the reason why we are here, we want to get something out of this education. A lot of Kingston University's students are from outside the UK and have come here for opportunities they cannot find at home. All Kingston University’s students pay a lot of money and Kingston University, if not as an academic institution, but as a business, should still uphold their part of our agreement. We pay and You educate us. We need the University to employ new lecturers to fill the missing positions and we need to be assured that there will be a course to graduate from. The power is in Your hand. Sign now.
