Our recess is our recess, no one should take it away. Finish and klaar

I wasn't the one striking why should I lose my holiday!! Take the strikers recess away!

Noo! So much planning and saving has gone into this recess.

Although I am against any form of protesting and believe that tertiary education is a priviledge and not a right I do not support the university's decision to take away our recess. I am not part of the strikes and will not be punished for what other barbaric, violent students and/or political parties have done. I do however wish that deserving students would get bursaries and/or loans based on their performance and behaviour at university and not in school but admission to university should still be based on school results and behaviour.

There was a reason we had recess after year tests in the first place...we need rest. #bringBackOurRecess

Please just Bring back our october recess.

We deserve the break!!!

Taking away recess is academically counterproductive. Students need this break to relieve fatigue and catch up on work. Many engineering students have vacation work in December and January, this is our only break until then! The reason why a recess was in place is still valid to reinstate our recess. Furthermore, some people have already paid for trips back home - refunds would have to be in order.

It is very inconsiderate of UP to take away the October recess on such a short notice. As a student who's family lives overseas these changes do not only affect me financially (since my flights are booked), they also affect me personally as going home is the greatest drive/insentive that pushes me to work hard. GIVE BACK OUR OCTOBER RECESS!

This is my son's only break he gets in a year and a tough degree at that he is busy doing, every Individual has a constitutional right to do what they choose to do, should the majority want the campus closed it must remain closed until 9 October like the rest of the varsities in South Africa..... He WORKS the rest of his holidays. So I have paid to be away as a family....are you (the university going to repay me airfares, accommodation etc) or re-open the campus and reset your schedules when varsity should be going back on 9 October....... Our children will have their weeks break .... They need it! He has learnt for these tests and has worked hard.... He now has missed two tests with another two scheduled for next week, which I guarantee the university will not be able to honour the protection of the students......

Dit is onanvaarbaaar. Ek het lankal reeds planne gemaak vir die oktober vakansie en my beste vriend (vanaf 4jaar oud) trou waar ek die "best man" is. Dit is bloot 'n tekort kennisgewing vir die hoeveelheid kostes wat aangegaan is. Jammer tuks, maar dat julle nie 1% van die studente kon beheer nie beteken dit nie die ander 99% moet daar onder ly nie. As +- 150 mense wat strike hulle wil kon laat geskied deur amok te maak op kampus, glo ek sal julle heelmoontlik vir studente (3139 tans die petisie geteken) wat op 'n vreedsame manier vra, 'n moontlike verguning kan maak. ASB

1-Not all students protested thus not all should be punished 2-Not everyone has financial support and have therefore made prior career and job arrangements 3-You telling me that theh university,which is packed with hundreds of professors and Doctors,cannot think of 1 alternative solution,other than giving up our one week of planned study/work break?
