We need recess, as students we cannot focus at anything without enough rest.

Not everyone lives in Pretoria and many were using this recess as a platform to go back home. Tickets were booked well in advance and are not refundable.

Rather use a Saturday or two to catch up...students need a break, plus flights booked and arrangements made.
