After passing on releasing a next generation game for the 2014 season, EA Sports announced that spending the two years to develop the next gen version of their NHL series would blow fans away. Upon its release, an extremely large amount of fans were irate with the final product that was released. New, casual, and hardcore NHL series fans alike voiced their displeasure with what seemed to be a half finished game. Many of the features that brought fans back over the last few years were missing from the game altogether. As Operation Sports, a popular and widely used sports video game website reported before NHL 15 was released, a LARGE amount of features were missing from the game. Fans took to online forums and other mediums to voice their displeasure, some to the point where they either returned the game altogether or vowed not to purchase another EA Sports product again. NHL 15 producer Sean Ramjagsingh did many interviews stating that time and "development hurdles" were the main reasons why so many features were missing from the game. One feature that was NOT missing from the game (despite it's own lack of features offered on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions) was Ultimate Team, easily EA Sports' big revenue generator. Due to the continuous forum posts and countless complaints, some features were patched into the game, but the most coveted ones were still missing. Updates to the roster for the game happened out of the blue, and after the NHL trade deadline, it took EA Sports a whole month to release an update with up to date trades. They did manage to update the Ultimate Team feature, which again, is a feature where fans are almost forced to spend REAL money to stay competitive in that respective game mode. The time has now come where the E3 Game Expo is almost here, and some information has been released about the new NHL 16 game to come out this fall. Of course, all the missing features will be in the new game, with all the improvements that EA Sports is saying they will be bringing. Something should be done to compensate fans that spent their money on an incomplete game, and again have to spend money on the new version to get the experience they expected in the previous version. I have created this petition so that EA Sports sees how serious its fans are and to see if they truly do care for their fans. A reduced price point ($39.99 for example) for fans that do own either the Playstation 4 or Xbox One versions of the game would be a good gesture to earn back our loyalty.
