Lucasfilm confirmed that Darryl Roberts has been cast for a walk-on appearance in the upcoming film. We successfully secured this recognition for the fan community and will monitor production updates to ensure the commitment is fulfilled.

Darryl is the epitome of what Star Wars fandom is all about, and has touched the lives of thousands of other fans worldwide through establishing what is now the largest active Star Wars fan group on Facebook. This group has many spinoff groups and pages, encompassing tens of thousands more fans.
It would be not only a tribute to his efforts, but a tip of the hat to all of us to see one of our own, our "Grand Master" become a part of the phenomena we all know and love, and is such a significant part of all of our lives.

I am coordinating with a publicist to draft a formal proposal for the production team. My focus remains on establishing a line of communication with the studio casting department to present our request.

We have lost our founder & creator of the Star Wars Geeks Unite group last night in a terrible car crash & I hope that he'll be remebered & acknowledged for all his hard word in starting this wonderful group that has become more than a page. It's become a family!
Getting a tribute for Darryl in the Star Wars franchise needs to happen. It is the ultimate way the Star Wars community can remember their founding master. Please Lucasfilm, let this happen. It means a lot, not just to Darryl and his family, but to the hundreds of Star Wars groups and pages he was involved with in some way.
Darrl's an awesome person. Without him, I doubt that I'd have found another Star Wars group to join that's as awesome as this one. He knows all about Star Wars and I think it would be amazing if he's given a cameo role!
Founder of SWGWU with a current member count of 8,758? He deserves a ROLE but a cameo will do for now hehehe May the Force be with you Master Roberts!

Perhaps his visage could be used for a bust of a Jedi Master in the new Jedi Temple, or his photo used on a recruiting poster for the new Republic Military or a Wanted Poster.
