My name is Michaela Richey, I was expelled from Sarasota High School on February 13th, 2012 for possession of marijuana. I realize now that I have made a huge mistake and that it was a horrible decision. I used to blame others for my mistakes but I have taken full responsibility for my actions. I feel like I deserve to go back because I have made a huge change since then. I have gotten a job, volunteered my time, gotten my gpa up from a 2.0 to a 3.6. I've been clean from any kind of drug for 7 months. I just want one chance, one chance and I know that I can prove that I have changed. I am willing to make this petition and meet with the principal of the school if he is willing to meet with me. If I could just meet with him for five minutes I would tell and show him all the reasons to why I deserve to go back and how I would be the best student I could possibly be. So if you take a few moments out of your day and just sign this petition and share it with your friends I would be more than thankful.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the kindness people are showing me. This has become so much bigger than I ever imagined and the fact that you all care about my future means the world to me.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the kindness people are showing me right now. It truly feels like people are willing to believe in second chances because of the support you have all shown. This momentum belongs entirely to you and your willingness to listen to my story.

Ridiculous that they wont even give her a meeting. She clearly turned it around.

people change and everyone deserves a second chance especially when they show they are actually doing the work to improve themselves. let her back in!
