I honestly never expected this to actually happen but the order is lifted and we can finally open our doors again which feels like a total fever dream. My head is spinning from all the emails but I just wanted to say thank you for sticking with me while it …

This petition is to help save the guide/camp community that is so vital to the economy of all of rural Maine. The way that the mandatory 14 day quarantine for non residents through 7/31 is written will make it impossible for any of us to operate. The amount of Maine residents that hire a guide or stay at our lodges is minuscule at best. We all want people to stay safe and healthy, but we simply can’t operate, pay our mortgages, taxes, feed our families, etc under this current order. Losing April-July for the guide community would create a devastating economic (and ecologic!) effect that many will not rebound from. We ask that the 14 day quarantine be lifted. We are fine with taking measures like social distancing/masks in stores/etc. We all agree that we need to be smart and careful in how we operate in these times. We are good with being careful, not with being shutdown. With that in mind, we ask that you would help this vital part of Maine’s economy keep moving forward! Give us fair and realistic guidelines, that still allow us to operate.

I just looked at the screen and saw 250 names which is totally wild because I honestly thought this would just be me shouting into the void. It feels like maybe people are finally starting to realize how hard it is for the camps right now although my head is spinning a bit trying to keep up with all the messages coming in.

Please don't tell me I can't go to my seasonal home for which I pay a hefty property tax to Maine. I have the Constitutional right to travel without unreasonable intrusion from government. Thank you for this Petition.

We have been in quarantine in our own state for 6 weeks. We’ve worn masks and have been continuing to be responsible during this difficult trying time. All we want is to be in our campground. We can social distance. They can close the pool . We want to be in our homes . We’ve paid campground in full, we’ve paid our property tax, lodging tax.

We Maine Guide's take our Safety Responsibilities Very-Very Seriously! The State of Maine has entrusted The Lives of our Sports to us during our Guide Trips. The only new Issue that Covid 19 has done to us is to Provide Social Distancing for our Sports! Other than that it's Business as usual for us!

The most healthy place you could be is outside in Maine's fresh air. Support our sporting industry and lift these unneeded restrictions now. Mainer's are depending on it.

We, outfitters simply can’t survive if we are not allowed income. 95%of income comes from non residents. With the 14 day quarantine, it makes it impossible to even do business. Say good bye to 99% of the the outfitters if it is not lifted.

This needs to be lifted. 1-5 clients coming in from out of state, going directly to the guide or lodge for a few days then going home is not a high risk in my opinion. They don't have to go to the grocery store, restaurants etc. They stop for gas at pay at the pump and keep moving. We as guides can implement safety precautions while they are with us.

This whole shutdown, at this point, is the Anti-Constitutionalists testing to see how far they can go. If the torches and pitchforks don’t come out soon, we will have failed.
