I am a mammy to a 6yr old girl with special needs her name is Laila, she was in Menni playgroup up until December 2011 & has been in no school up until now as there is no place for her anywhere , we where offered a school over in Sandyford but i rejected it as it was a school for blind & deaf children but Laila is neither plus its too far as we are in the Crumlin area. Ive been onto the Board of Education about home tuition & was told that Laila wouldnt be accepted as i rejected a school even though i had good reason . I wanted to send her to a school 5 mins away from our home but was told we are not in the catchment area so my Laila wouldnt be accepted , The school we are in the catchment of is full & proberly wont have room for my Laila for another 2-3 years . Its so frustrating everytime i feel im getting somewhere i hit a brick wall . Laila has alot of needs she is Ventilated, Tracheostomy, Peg-fed , Cardiac problems & recovering from an Aberrant Bronchial Artery . Lailie is a happy little girl she loves interacting with others & misses school , she loved heading out every morning, shes also missing out on physio & play therepy
