In 2011, I was introduced to Duffy the Disney Bear. For those of you who are not familiar with his back story, Duffy is the bear that was given to Mickey from Minnie to keep him company on his long voyage. Mickey was so filled with love, this love brought Duffy to life. Well, since 2011, the same love that Mickey has had for Duffy is the same love that I have been filled with with each of my visits to Disneyland California Adventure.
In August of 2014, several cast members let me know that Duffy would be leaving DCA. I contacted Disneyland to voice my concern about this, and they assured me that he would not be leaving the park. Well later I received an email that did confirm that he would IN FACT be departing.
I am extremely hurt by this because he is one of my favorite characters who I think is often overlooked. I am asking all of my fellow Disneyland family members to call AND email Disneyland and tell them to give Duffy a chance! He is truly one of the reasons why all of my experiences are magical and it is disheartening to know that he is now gone.
