Currently living in Brooklyn and working as a teacher in Staten Island. And with the current toll, it already is unfair for folks like myself, and now I am hearing there is another hike on the way!
Now it makes sense why my colleagues tend to avoid employment in Staten Island.

The toll is too damn high. I have to go over the bridge to go to work. When did New York City become only for the super rich?

I find it absurd at best that this is the way it is. Its time to start using your noodles and common sense. Make it the same price each way, get rid of toll booth operators and use a charge by plate system for those that dont have EZ-Pass.
Why get penalized for going to Staten Island? Why not then penalize Staten Islanders and charge them for coming into Brooklyn? Its only fair!!!

Look at the overtime pay on their payroll. You know what these mta guys good at? Raising tolls! The problem is, they didn't realize, that using the Bridge is not a luxury, but necessity. Who cares about the weak, poor paying guys? Who supervises the board? Nobody!

I am a mother working part time in New Jersey and I have to cross the Verrazano and Goethals 3 times a week. These tolls are killing me! Please there should be equity for the brooklynites

It's not fair that Staten island gets a deep discount and Brooklyn residents have to pay the full fair! This is highway robbery, the bridge has two sides and both needs to be treated fairly.

R u people F---in kidding me? I have been paying this toll since it was erected with the promise that there would not be a charge when the bridge construction was finished! What happed to that deal?

$17.00 is too high !! We pay insurance registration we pay high taxes to still have to pay a toll but to rise it for the needs of headquarters rather than the people is very unjustified.

I am a student and cross that bridge 5+ times a week and I don't see how 17$ is an "affordable rate" at all.
