It has recently been brought to our attention that the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen (GISHWHES) is a thinly veiled excuse for "cheap labor", as the participants are expected to provide goods and services for only a fraction of their worth. The remuneration of the participants is strictly hypothetical and only very subjectively based on performance, which is unacceptable. Furthermore, several GISHWHES participants have suffered significant psychological damage as a direct result of their contribution and were not offered financial compensation nor the opportunity to take a sick leave.

In response to this, we have decided to create a labor union for all the GISHWHES participants. The advantages of joining a labor union are many. First and foremost, the union becomes a network of information aiming to better defend the rights and interests of every GISHWHES participant. Every member will also acquire democratic decisional power and be able to exert it toward the changes they wish to see. (Nothing says "please extend the deadline" like a strike.)
