How short-sighted of your Council to do somethign so self-serving and, well., amost dishonest! Is this how we show ouyr girls that we respect and trust the examples we have set and the training we have given them? I think NOT!

these girls should be permitted to "lead" their last camp experience and enjoy the rewards of their efforts as they have planned. I believe it selfish their Council would take this opportunity away from them int he 11th hour of their Girl Scout careers so that the Council may profit for themselves. To the Council Members - is that the lesson you want to teach future Leaders in our country and is that the message you want to pass on to perspective Girl Scouts. I challenge you to re-consider this policy change.

This policy change from our Council seems to be a short-sighted one. So few girls continue on with Scouts through High School that the opportunity to plan and run these girl-led camps should be considered an honor reserved for those who can hold on through the chaos of adolescence. There shouldn't be policies put in place to limit what the girls could earn based upon scenarios that might happen. If anything, Council should consider any possible lost camp-space revenue as sort of an indirect marketing expense. Younger scouts everywhere look up to their own amazing high-school role models & I think that it is a Council's responsibility to ensure that access to these remarkable young women remains affordable to the families involved. This is an amazing program, and that the council only severely limited it without obvious reason instead of outright banning it is terrible. The scouting program is already in trouble this generation, disallowing leadership on the part of the older scouts only drags it further away than it should be. From a Life Scout of BSA Troop 27, out of Little Rock, AR.

The girl-led camp events are the ones the little girls like the most. Council needs to understand what a fabulous retention "tool" our older girls are. This is exactly the sort of thing that drives me crazy about council. I wish someone down there had some common sense.

I am a member of troop 25334 and I am so proud of the work we have done on all of our campouts, and in raising all of the money to go on our trips. I think it is really important that we learn these kinds of skills and are able to interact with younger girls to teach them the things they could do in girls scouts. I hope these rules are changed so we and the other girl scouts can continue to have this great camp experience.

I'm a member of this troop and it would mean a lot if ya'll would sign this petition. These camps are extremely important, not only to our troop but to all scouts in the area, because its a chance to just have fun and learn new skills. We need to continue doing these or else we will never reach out goal, which we have been working so hard toward. thanks!

It is very confusing & frustrating to the girls and parents when their own council works against them. Hopefully, this will bring forth some change quickly!

a Journey camp for Seniors would be soooo helpful in getting them on the path to their Gold Award. Please help this make camps like this feasible for our Scouts.
