Thank you dear friends for your support re: Gilbert's visa. Just to clarify the situation.... They have rejected his Tourist visa - believing totally spuriously that he will do a bunk and overstay his welcome - suggesting that out relationship is a scam and that he is trying to be yet another 'queue jumper'. Adding insult to injury was the fact that the letter - an official government letter - was riddled with typos and bad grammar. Our Temporary Residency Visa is still pending - so there is still some hope - but we are unsure if this finding will impact on that decision. And if we want to contest this finding it will cost us $1700... without any surety of outcome. You DO need to be rich to immigrate - and forget it if the colour of your skin is not white and you aint from old blighty!
