Gil was always a gentleman on and off the field, but more than that he was a leader. He was a great fielder and one of the best power hitters in the league...He was the best of his era which usually translates to the hall.....he has comparable numbers with Tony Perez who is already in the hall....and he was a good manager who got the Mets their first world championship.
