Each year we have a number of players who have amazing statistical credentials, don’t make the cut because of integrity issues. Gil had strong stats and amazing accomplishments, but unlike those other players, his integrity and character IMPROVE his resume. He’s a hero in Southern Indiana, Brooklyn and everywhere else - he earned a Bronze Star. Oh, and he hit 370 home runs, 1,900+ hits, 1,274 RBI, was an 8 x All-Star, won the first 3 Gold Glove Awards ( including the first where you had to be the best in both leagues), won 2 World Series as a player and won another as a manager. GIL EARNED HIS WAY INTO THE HALL - LET HIM IN!!!
