Gil Hodges deserves to be in the Baseball Hall of Fame more then any of the new and current selections. One of baseball's all time great players, 8 time All-Star, Golden Glove winner several times, all time National League Grand Slam home run holder, one of the top home run and RBI leaders year after year. Not to mention his outstanding managerial career capping it with his World Series victory in 1969. A no brainer Gil Hodges deserves the recognition that has eluded him over the years.

It is an absolute travesty that Gil Hodges has not been enshrined. It’s overdue, fellas. Was an anchor at 1B for the Brooks during the Jackie years, he won three gold gloves, held the title of most home runs by a righty, and coached the Miracle Mets to a World Series. All of this before age 47 when he died plus missing two years in the Service in WWII. His managerial accomplishments alone would merit a HOF candidacy. Get it right, Cooperstown!!!
