A shame he is not in HOF. I went to be every night as a boy listening to Brooklyn games and he was the favorite of all. 100 RBI's year after year, lots of home runs. Great fielder and could play 3rd or 1st. Probably the most decent person who ever played the game. No steroids with this guy, he wouldn't even swear. And then there was the Mets-they were terrible until he got there and he had great years as manager including incredible miracle Mets of 1969. Put him in. Veterans committee almost did once but Campy was to sick to travel. A real injustice to leave him out. Do it while his family is still alive. A great person and my favorite Brooklyn Dodger and i still love them all.

His induction is long overdue. Many people believe he already is in the HOF because it's unthinkable that he's not.

He gets overlooked because his batting average isn't shiny; he deserves induction not only for his playing career but also for his part on the 1969 Miracle Mets

How can a player/manager such as Gil Hodges not be in the hall. He had a great playing career,a man of integrity and he led the Mets to there 1st World Championship. Enough said elect Gil Hodges into the Hall now.

For over a decade Gil Hodges was one of the premier hitters in all of baseball. He was an RBI machine. He was also one of the greatest fielding first basemen the game has ever known.
