Us four girls believe we have the right to work two shifts because Project Vision said we could work two shifts. Since this was such a late notice (41 hours before our start shift time), we believe we should be able to work both shifts on Saturday, December 19th at Barnes and Noble. Since we are getting told we can only work 1 shift now, it is such a sudden change and thus, changes all of our plans. We discussed and agreed upon an elf outfit that consists of a green elf shirt, boots, and an elf half. We were very excited to volunteer to gift wrap for Barnes and Noble, but now our excitement just got crushed. We all have a passion for volunteering and we have been looking forward to this day for the past three months. Ultimately, we hope you understand and hope that you will let us work two shifts because we believe this is unfair to us.

The response to our concerns regarding the shift changes has been significant. This momentum confirms that others recognize the unreasonable nature of the sudden schedule adjustment. We appreciate this recognition of our commitment to the volunteer program.

This is so lame. We already went out and bought all our elf stuff thinking we had the whole day booked. Nobody gives you 48 hours notice for something like this when weve been planning it for months.
Basically, our organization said we could volunteer for the whole day for gift wrapping. So all four of us were going to volunteer at the same day. But literally, they called us today (12/17) that only two people can volunteer per shift. Now, we are conflicted as to who should do what shift because we all want the morning shift. And the reason why we cannot volunteer for the full day is because there's not enough tables for all of us which is why we won't get hours if we volunteer for the whole day. We think this is unfair because of how irresponsible it was to cancel our plans, especially when the problem at hand is because there isn't enough tables...and we hope to bring this issue to attention with this petition. Please support our cause!
I love to give toys to the kids who doesn't have toys to play with.

The fact that we all thought we could volunteer the entire day for the 2 shifts was personally what I looked forward to. All of us even wanted to volunteer another day, but the left over volunteer day would clash with our plans. Now we are notified that each of us can actually only work 1 shift on that one day, which is less than what we hoped for. This is all due to a table shortage, which is honestly crazy, but December only comes once a year and this will probably be our last opportunity to volunteer for this event with the organization.
