Please sign this petition to express support for a regular Tridentine Latin Mass at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill. This Mass would serve parishioners in the greater Chapel Hill-Durham area, since no local option is available on Sundays. How often it would occur would depend on the number of participating laity, and a priest to offer it. If you are signing then you agree that such a mass would offer many graces to those attending and to the general parish life. Please forward this petition to anyone who might be interested in worshipping Our Lord in the Extraordinary Form.

I have been hearing from so many people lately about how much longing there really is for the beauty of the Latin Mass in our specific corner of the diocese. It is honestly a little overwhelming to sort through all the messages but I am trying to keep up with everyone while I start looking into the next steps for approaching the parish office.

I logged on this morning and just stared at the screen because the momentum here is honestly completely wild to me. It feels like the desire for this liturgy has been hiding in plain sight this whole time and I am just so grateful that so many of you stepped up to show that this matters to our parish.

Anyone in Hillsborough please spread the petition around that parish please. I know there used to be a Latin Mass there, though not one on Sundays. I keep meaning to drive up and talk to the priest about putting our petition in the bulletin but have not got round to it and likely won’t for a while.
I got overly excited thinking this was STM school in Raleigh, but that's ok, wherever ! - I will be supportive of the Holy Mass as it was traditionally offered.
Finally! Driving to Raleigh every single weekend is getting pretty old. Hope we can get something going here in Chapel Hill soon.
YES! My kids need to experience the beauty of the traditional mass. Fingers crossed this happens.

About two years ago I fell in love with the Latin mass, to the extent I will drive up to 80 miles one way to attend it every Sunday. I have regularly driven to Raleigh, Greensboro, or Rocky Mount every Sunday for the past 18 months. There is so much more in the Latin mass worship than the Novus Ordo mass, although a person has to be willing to invest some time and effort to more fully appreciate it.
