Fire Gary Bettman, for the NHL Players' sakes.
As commissioner of the NHL, it is Gary Bettman's responsibility to take into account the safety of the players. However, his incompetence becomes clearer by the day. Those of you who follow hockey will be aware of the incident where Philadelphia Flyer, Randy Jones, hit Boston Bruins Center, Patrice Bergeron, from behind. Bergeron lay unconscious on the ice for nearly a quarter of an hour, before being carted off on a stretcher. The injury was mere inches away from being life threatening, and as it is, it will be a while before any of us see Bergeron on the ice again. Bergeron was seriously injured, sustaining a grade three concussion, and a broken nose, while Jones received a mere two game suspension. Jones is the third Flyers player this season to have seriously injured another player (the other two received 20 and 25 game suspensions) in only the first three weeks of the season! Yet Bettman refuses to look into the Flyers organization.
