Golden Square Shopping Centre in Warrington is proud to launch its 'Get Creative hour' pledge for families to sign up and promise to spend more time together on the arts – whether it’s a trip to the gallery or museum, listening to music, drawing together, taking a dance or performance class or anything creative. With the demise of many arts groups in the North West combined with the loss of funding for some arts centres, this is a serious issue as less children are spending time on the arts which, from research shown by the Cultural Learning Alliance and more, could affect a child’s confidence, performance and ability in school. We are now asking families from across the North West to sign up to our pledge to spend one hour extra a week together on arts activities. Once you have signed up you can visit the Golden Square shopping centre and pick up your very own 'Get Creative' loyalty card from the Customer Service desk, which we have created in co-operation with arts organisations including Culture Warrington, which will give you EXCLUSIVE discounts on a variety of creative, fun activities across the region. These discounts include half price music lessons, free dance classes, 50% discount at StagePro academy, £5 off a visit to Norton Priory and even £3 off at Golden Square's Build a Bear store.* We believe that this pledge will help families understand the importance of taking part in arts activities together – and make it easier for them to do so!
