Wonderful Brand Pistachios WARNING LABEL FOR BUGS

Was just eating pistachios from this company and found a worm - OMGosh!! For me it was horrifying, I had no idea.

Ive had this happen twice now, different bags, months apart. Besides larva there has also been moldy and rotten ones. I will never buy Wonderful Pistacios again. When I call the number on the bag to complain, they act like its no big deal and unavoidable and send me $1 coupons to buy more.

Thank you for your comment. I don't regularly buy pistachios, but I am glad to hear you have not had problems with other companies. I will definitely look for other companies to buy from before giving up on pistachios altogether.

I found one too. Fortunately did not eat that one, as the unopened shell looked different and I opened out of curiosity and could see the stripedness on the dark worm and I did not need to look further. Was going to try to finish the bag - as pistachios are expensive - and just inspect each one which I was kind of doing already, but haven't been able to open the bag again yet. Also I will contact the company and find out if the whole bag needs to be discarded once a worm is found. I Googled it after that happened and read these things can happen, and I never knew. It grossed me out as well. Thinking back, I do remember eating a pistachio out of that same bag, before I found the worm, and it had a weird bitter taste and I thought it unusual when I was eating it that it tasted like that, and now wondering if it was infected with worm. I still have it (the infested pistachio) in a zip lock bag, the original bag of pistachios and receipt, so I'll see what they say.

Just happened to me. Halfway through bag and I’m wondering if all that extra crispiness was worms. There needs to be a warning label and compensation. I live on my farm, and have about 6 of these bags regularly. What if this hatched and spread to my crops? Affecting my livelihood too from a product that you expected better care from? And as a farmer and rancher I can attest there are better ways to mitigate pest control from the source than the methods they described in their email to you, it shows its more about profit than quality control. I could go on and in greater detail but I think I made my point

Found a bug in my pistachios. That’s unacceptable cuz I had no idea until it happened!! And there are TONS of stores that say it does!!! NOT RIGHT!!!

I find it ridiculous that i cant eat these in comfort, i must thoroughly look at every individual seed, as to just pop 1 in my mouth without hesitation can lead to an unpleasant and vulgar experience. Personally I think the company should do more to limit the worms, as I find maybe 2 or 3 in EVERY bag I buy, I cant help but feel they are being lazy, incompetent, or malevolent. I think a petition like this could encourage them to meet a better quota even if they cant keep all of them out, as id rather find one in every five bags than the former.

I just googled search and found you guys because I was eating Good & Gather and I noticed worms and I have never seen anything like this. I am so disgusted.

Opened a pistachio and found many small bugs inside.

I also have found worms in our pistachios, I am so grossed out. All Wonderful did was throw a couple vouchers at us after I emailed a complaint to their company.
