although life have had hamsters and cats and a pet raccoon my best friends throughout my life have always been my dogs. Please Craig get your family a dog. A child could not ask for a better friend. It wouldn't let me sign the petition because I refuse to put in my email address but you can count my comment as my signature. I prefer to raise mine from puppyhood but if you don't want to deal with that adopt a dog just a little bit older maybe it's owner had to go to a nursing home or the people had to move and couldn't have their pets
