The district just announced they are granting the extra recovery time we asked for. This win belongs entirely to the hundreds of you who spoke up when it felt like our concerns were being ignored. Please keep an eye on your local school updates to make sure everything stays on …
The flu/sickness is at an all time high. Walk in clinics were full over the weekend and kids still need to recoup. We are limited on how many days our kids can miss. Many medical practices have said its only going to keep spreading with children going back to school so soon. Let's give the county more time to get healthy.
I am honestly stunned by how many of you stepped up to help with this. If you could please send this link to a few parents in your group chat today we might actually reach that hundred mark soon.

This is my daughter's first year in the Cumberland County school system and she doesn't have nearly the antibodies that some of these older kids have and they're still getting sick. So I do believe since we have so many snow days left that this shouldn't be a problem.

My kids have been sick four times since Christmas this is ridiculous and then we get punished for keeping them home use the snow days we aren't going to use and get our kids well again!!! Stop being unreasonable

My daughter was out all last week due to sickness. She's so upset that she had to miss school. She's been working so hard to keep her grades at a/b honor roll and not have to take finals. It's really heartbreaking that it's not her fault because she's sick...

Close school for a whole week. The flu is contagious for a full week before you even show symptoms, plus the week it takes to feel better. Give these kids a chance to get well again before forcing them back. I have children who are immunocompromised, think of those kids who cannot get the vaccine, and those who the flu will be deadly to.

I have one school aged son and two younger children at home. My youngest has a heart condition, and I am absolutely terrified of her getting sick. Please, let the community as a whole recover from this outbreak.

Most of us are afraid of getting behind at school so we continue to go to school even when we are sick and it is effecting everyone around us. Many people I know are sick but must keep going to school in fear of falling greatly behind
