I would love to see episode 2 released preferably with episode 3 and reconstruction, animation, soundtracks or linking material to cover episodes 1 & 4 on DVD but I would be happy to get episode 2 as an extra on another release if that were the only viable option for an official release.

Apparently the reason it has not been released is because the company that does the animated episodes has closed down, but that's no excuse at all. We thought ths episode was lost forever, but for it to exist and not be released is far more frustrating. If the BBC just released the episode on DVD with no special features, I'd be happy. It was found in 2011, so hurry up BBC!

Why are they holding onto the Underwater Menace when they've obviously animated the missing episodes and Anneke Wills recorded a commentary in 2013!!! Either give us fans a valid explanation or release it!

I have spent hundreds of pounds buying every DVD and I don't want to get left with one episode I haven't got. Sell it at £50, I will still have to buy it!

This is the earliest example of Troughtons Doctor surviving and its a massive shame that they are not releasing it. Really hope they change there minds and we get to finally see this release with the extras to complete the collection. If they can't do animation, use telesnaps like Web.

I am a teenager and have always adored classic who, especially Patrick Troughton's doctor. The main problem is that so few of his episodes are available to watch. I was extatic when The Web of Feat and The Enemy of the World finally came out. Two incredibly wonderful episodes. I hope that if this petition is successful, I will be able to continue watching the wonderful run of the second doctor.

All I can say is that it's very annoying that on the Moonbase DVD they did a trailer for this story to be released and I thought it'd be great to have another missing Patrick Troughton story come back to us.
This has to come out onto DVD, I want to see it!
