The Minecraft lighting bug has been around ever since the 1.2 update, thanks to the new anvil map file format. This lighting bug has caused multiple problems including the random appearance of dark areas and some areas to be lit when there is no light source. The most damaging place this has occurred is the minecraft server called MCME or Minecraft Middle-Earth. They had completed a scale build of Moria from Lord of the Rings but now the location is too laggy to successfully keep open and run the server. This was one of the main attractions to the server that many now miss out on. I suggest this petition will show Mojang how much this lighting bug is affecting us and shall concentrate on fixing it more.
