I have been a SOTA parent for 10 years since my son first attended and now my daughter is a Sr. Let this young lady express her self. Self-expression has always been a part of SOTA.

Absolutely disgusting. Sota is supposed to be a school with equal opportunity.

sad but rather not surprising that a school that tries to pride itself on being different and accepting is no different than any other schools with it's misogyny (and misogynoir) and sexualization of students. once again in the SOTA community something a guy student does is acceptable/excused/applauded while girl students are ashamed/degraded or have their content removed. my time at sota was interesting sad that the staff don't know how to treat students fairly or like humans.

There are a lot of revealing photos at SOTA and guess what??? Nobody cared because it didn't bother them or distract them.

I applaud this young woman who is using the system to elevate her justified case!! Equality is equality for both female and male... Get it right Tacoma School District!!

Seriously? It is not the job of the school to regulate a woman's body. Get all the way out of here with that nonsense. Also, I hardly think the end of the year is the time to establish that a student that is considered a senior by most definitions cannot be included in the senior yearbook section. Stop picking on the Mayas!

"Glorify early graduation"? That is something to be proud of! When you have students who can move on early, you as a school have done something in the educational guidance department right! And as for the photo, if you aren't going to dress code guys, why are you singling girls out? It's not like it shows her chest.

It sounds very bias to me. Maya , continue to challenge them and make sure they get it right for the following year

I have always loved the messages sota attempted to send, but the hypocrisy at this school is massive and this is exactly the push we need to make it right. She looks beautiful and 100% deserves to be in the yearbook.
