In my opinion Lil Kim deserves to get this award because of her great impact on fashion. She made fashion a big influence in Hip Hop especially for women. The way she dressed other female rappers idolized her up to this day. This is well deserved!

Not only is Lil Kim an iconic Rap Artist, she is an innovator who has always been forward thinking and creative. That is undeniable. It's without a doubt that Kim's style has influenced not only the hoods of the states we live in, but the world of High a Fashion as well! It's so unfortunate to see politics play a role in not giving a hard working artist their dues. I hope 2017 is the year where the CDFA does it's due diligence on Lil Kim to truly understand the impact she has made with fashion in the music industry and pop culture as a whole.
