I have two staffs and they are loving pets. I agree its about how they are raised by their owners that determines their behaviour. They are a lovely breed really.

I've got a staffy & he's soft as shit I reckon if I got burglars he would think they were playing and just lick them think I need a more macho dog :)

I have two girl staffs and they just want to play and cuddle it's the idiots that think there hard when they make them fight that gives them a bad name not far !!!!

It's all about the owner and how you train your staff. Mines insanely cleaver and best of all friendly to all animals and children.

Staffies get a totally unjustfied bad reputation. Any breed in the wrong hands can be dangerous!! They are the most loyal and loving breed and are amazing with kids. As a responsible Staffie owner I would never have anything else!
