All our support staff rely on daycare centres to look after their children, when their away at work. Their need to be vaccinated is as important as police officers, nurses, doctors, Teachers, front line workers.

Early Childhood Educators should count as one of those essential workers and prioritize in getting the vaccine.

I work in the sector and the Government needs to show us that we truly are essential, not make us an afterthought! This sector kept the economy going during lockdown so others could still go to work/attend school.

I work in the sector and the Government needs to show they care. It is really sad how little they think of the people raising the children of today.

ECE workers have been working through this from the beginning so other essential workers had access to childcare could do their jobs. In my mind it’s more important to vaccinate them than teachers.

Health care workers need dependable child educators to be able to do their work. The #1 work barrier for Public Health vaccinators is school & daycare closures. Priorize the community Public Health depends on to do their work.

We were told we had to give notice to all our families and open as essential service locations to those who were working the front lines of the pandemic. We have been given little information throughout the last year. Educators have continued to show up to care for the children of Saskatchewan while figuring things out on the fly. They do it with smiles on their faces (even though tou can't see it), no means to social distance, and putting themselves and their families at risk. Amd why, because they care!
These workers eed to be recognized just as any other essential device workers to be vaccinated. We are seeing many asymptomatic children in centres. This makes it hard to keep these educators safe. They deserve to be protected so they can continue caring for all of our children to allow families to go to work safely.
Thankful for ECEs
