Since the implementation of the parking meters, I now try to do my shopping along rt 29, where I get free and convenient parking.

We are working hard to encourage downtown shoppers, this is the heart of the city. Please remove the meters and give our customers some free parking.

The meters are a hassle to use, and I have seen fewer downtown shoppers since their implementation. Online commenters to various sites mention the difficulty of parking downtown and the ease (and and $0) of parking at Stonefield and other places on 29N.

License Plate number?!!! This has to be the most asinine idea ever put forth by the city. Yeah, "let's go ahead and punish people for coming downtown." Good God get rid of the meters

Lack of free 2 hour parking is absolutely a detriment to the downtown community. It is driving away regulars and making the mall unwelcoming to tourists. Our retail business has been negatively affected since they were implemented. (The first hour free at the garage is a good new policy- but nobody knows about it except people who already parked there regularly.)

These meters are a burden to hourly workers who keep the Mall alive, and to short term shoppers who don't want spend a great deal of money to accomplish a short term mission (banking, shopping, lunch, etc)

Have certainly heard nothing but negative feedback from everyone trying to visit the downtown mall for dining, entertainment, shopping, touring, etc. A massive barrier to creating a thriving downtown area.

The parking meters will affect the downtown businesses. I really feel that they are already suffering in this economy. I also think the parking meters are an effort to make the mall more exclusive. Like any city in the US there should be some free parking. If these meters stay they will hurt businesses and ostracize patrons. This needs to change for the benefit of the downtown mall.

I work for a downtown restaurant group and business has been down compared to last year. The meters have had a negative impact.
If meters are to work, a re-set will be required. The timing was bad and implementation poorly executed. Let’s get traffic flowing downtown and then work towards a solution that considers the concerns and insights of local businesses and residents.

Please get rid of the meters; they definitely are negatively impacting local downtown businesses as residents resent the meters and avoid the mall.

My older clients hate these meters. It's one more reason for them not to come downtown!
