I couldn't disagree more. Ignoring the self inflated laughing and repeated phrases, he gives far more to the cycling experience than these slight misdemeanours. I have not heard any "invented" facts that he has not acknowledged himself and has far more a diverting approach to the commentary (without ignoring the action on the screen) that those foibles should be forgiven. Anything is better than Channel 4's bore fest duo of Ned "yellow jumper" Boulting with David "I've cycled in it so know all there is to know" Millar or the alternative of Rob "allo allo" Hatch, urgh!!! Now, Rob Hatch is a person you should all be focusing your attention on. His accenting on certain words and names are pompous. I care not that he speaks the languages and they are correct, this is not a defense. People who are guilty of this odious verbal trait are often trying to impress what they perceive as their superiority on a subject. You can almost hear the slight hesitation as he remembers that he must slip in a "correct" version of a name when it is completely acceptable and accurate to use the English word. It's just not natural and comes across as forced, ruining the whole commentary. This is evidenced when, along with other idiots of this genre, they revert to English in moments of drama when they don't have the thinking time to dig up the foreign equivalent. It makes for a disjointed and awful aural experience.

His constant giggling at his own jokes spoils every stage. He uses his idiotic stock phrases time after time. I have now switched to ITV4 purely because of Carlton Kirby. Idiot free commentary.

He and Kelly do not exhibit clarity through the microphone.
Kirby “invents” comments such as “ Froome says no you are not getting away from me”.
How ludicrous is that?
We need to have the leaders in the breakaway group identified, by team colours, and numbers or team name.
Kirby also has a long term “love “ for Dan Martin.
