I'm glad to realise others feel the same about him. His waffling and laughing at his own non-jokes detract from the pleasure of the event.

He constantly spouts his inane unnecessary thoughts. Viewers want to know about what they're seeing on the screen.

Laughs at his own jokes and inappropriate analogies. Unforgiveable. ITV4 coverage far superior, despite too many ads.

The petition makes good sense. CK is only any good when there's nothing happening on long transition stages. He is also far too opinionated when he should be a neutral commentator. There are actual former professional riders who know what they are talking about to offer analysis and criticism

He makes the TDF unwatchable. Old man who prattles on ... dementia, perhaps?

He can call the final few kilometers well. Hearing his inanity for 3 weeks in insufferable. Get the hook.

My main irritation is his audible intake of breath whilst commentating. Can’t hear any of the others

His style is a distraction from the quality of cycling we are seeing, more Alan Partridge than in touch

What with his waffling and Sean Kelly speaking pigin English the commentary is unintelligible

The most annoying and distracting commentator on any sport. A pillock of the first order.

Whenever Rob Hatch is commentating I mute. Different commentators appeal to different people. So acknowledge that and leave Carlton alone.

I rely on commentary to understand what is happening on screen. I am not good at picking out riders so I have to rely on the commentator to do that for me. Unfortunately Carlton is not able to relay the race information quickly or efficiently, so I am left not knowing what is going on. Please move Carlton to a different role so that his position can be given to a commentator who can describe the race to the viewers.
