Carlton Kirby's commentating is unlistenable.

Thank you for this petition. Can we please have former cyclists commenting more. They are much more humble and passionate. They've been there so great to hear their thoughts. McEwen, Lloyd - so classy and simple

I stopped watching the UEA tour, couldn’t take it any more. He comes across as very arrogant and opinionated and is greatly amused by his quips and jokes which are not funny or even understandable. I find the other commentators knowledgable and entertaining, Carlton Kerby is an exception.

I can’t understand a word of his UAE tour 2023 highlights. They make absolutely zero sense. I avoid his commentary wherever possible.

I have, once again, just sent the petition to Eurosport and GCN: I know you ignore these, but here we go again. Please sack Carlton Kirby. He is atrocious. He ruins your coverage of the cycling. 1,871 people have signed this petition, agreeing with me. 1,400 have even taken the trouble to comment! About a cycling commentator. That's a huge number for such a niche petition. That shows just how unpopular he is. He is adding nothing - only detracting from the cycling.

Please GCN and Eurosport, hear us. If you have any doubt I challenge you to listen through one session of c kirby. I subscribed to enjoy the racing, not to hear his inane prattling on about his lunch, his hobbies, etc. And that self serving chuckling at his own stupid little jokey comments makes me sick. All the others are great, please find something else for ck to do .

I am glad i am not the only one who gets annoyed at all the steak talking, the constant laughing about nothing... We watch it to get comments, not recipes. Thank God Brian Smith makes more sense. We will have to mute the stages so not to hear him. So hope the future stages don't include him. But why isn't anyone telling him? I mean, people can change....

He ruins a good race with his inane babbling. I don’t CARE how he cooks a steak. I don’t NEED him to tell me when to take a “comfort break”. Worst cycling commentator I have ever had the displeasure to listen to.

Unfortunately he just fills space with an endless string of words. Detracts from otherwise excellent coverage.

It's not about his 'personality', as can be seen by reading the petition. And over 1,850 people find him so incompetent and even offensive that they've signed a very niche petition.

Which commentator were you thinking of? Dan Lloyd, perchance (if we're going to speak Victorian)? Can't be CK, surely? Unless by 'personality' you mean a deep-seated insecurity complex and desire to hear one's own voice spouting incessant drivelling inanities? In which case, I'd have to agree entirely.
