The groundswell of support for the restoration of the Peterborough Showground has grown significantly. This momentum sends a firm message to the developers that our community expects the venue to return to its primary purpose.

We must keep the showground as there's nothing in Peterborough to attract tourists or visitors. Peterborough is becoming one big housing estate with no recreational facilities except Nene Park. Shame on whoever at PCC who agreed to this.
Moved next to the vibrant showground 30 years ago. Loved the buzz of activity. It’s now a dead zone. Bring back Truckfest, the motorhome shows, the MCN bike festival, the Tour of Cambridgeshire and the speedway. Peterborough needs these events.
The speedway brings a lot of visitors to Peterborough as well as the local support it has. The track has staged World Championship meetings in the past, to loose a sporting facility of its quality is a disaster for the sport.
The showground should be reinstated as it brings a great deal of financial benefit to the city and local businesses. Popular events and the previous speedway meetings held at the show ground were attended by national and international companies alike.
Been supporting the panthers for over 50 years and it has been in my family blood…my daughter was Miss Peterborough Speedway…my son attended as did my brother who met his wife at the speedway…need this blood to keep flowing….
The loss of showground is another sign that Peterborough is disappearing off the National map - even less reason to visit. It's a huge loss to our city. The many shows our family attended now take place elsewhere so we go there and spend our money. The strain of another 1500 homes on the infrastructure around the area will be enormous. As for affordable much needed housing I agree but that will not be met by this scheme as the people wheeled out for the last meeting need social housing and that is not included. Transport systems would also need to be in place and with one road serving that estate can't see that working.

The show ground has been a big part of life. East of England Show, National Shire Horse Show, Equifex, The Steam Event. Truck fest Numerous other equestrian events. East Anglia and Cambridgeshire needs a fully service large events venue with good transport options
