Full investigation needs to be launched now by the Department of Justice. My past experience with Smith in 2013 when requested a Protection Order after reporting threats was unbelievable as well, yet he never was held accountable for the criminal actions he did in his position of power. I fully support a DOJ investigation immediately, and would add my interactions to the investigation list for his 'Abuses of Power'.

I tend to have faith in our elected officials and their decisions in office because we as a community trusted their beliefs and ideals and want to trust that the decisions being made are in out best interest. However, with no reason an extremely dedicated and clearly loved officer and fellow friend, family or neighbor was dismissed for "no reason" or because his services were "no longer needed". I would like to publically request an explanation. Clearly he has earned the trust of our youth. Which even as a parent of a teen that's hard to do in our own households at times. For the length of time I have known this young man I have seen nothing but respect, honesty and extreme dedication. Why not, Sherriff Smith, if there was good reason, just share that with the people you are affecting so drastically? Why create the level of anger and uproar that is growing within this community? Don't you want the ones that supported you and voted for you to serve another term to continue to support and trust your decision making. Are your services still needed? Should you be asked to leave? This is a time to do exactly what you promised during your campaign... Honor you constituants, continue a close relationship with your community, support your youth and above all protect without doubt the good people of this county. Including the officers that served under you. I am tonight, not only a confused citizen, but a very concerned parent. I fear what is happening due to this decision, and for what will come.
