The library is officially moving to twenty four hour access. It has been a long and exhausting process to get the administration to see our point of view but they finally agreed. I am going to stay focused on making sure the transition happens exactly as promised.

The emails I keep sending to the administration are disappearing into a void of silence. It is exhausting to keep chasing them for a response but I am not going to stop pushing for the hours we need.

ridiculous that city campus gets 24/7 access and we dont. its not fair at all.
we pay enough fees. give us access to the books we actually need instead of closing the doors right when i start to get some real work done.
it makes no sense to close early when i have deadlines to hit. the commute back to notts is long enough without being kicked out of the library at 5pm.
im a diss student and i really need the late night hours to get my research finished. please sort this out.
PLEASE keep it open. I live on campus and its impossible to concentrate in the house with housemates being loud all night. i need the quiet space.

the problem is that when i've finished lectures at 5:00 i like to go back to my house in southwell, have a shower, cook, eat and have a break. i'm most productive at night especially when there aren't swathes of students taking up the computers and making noise as you find during the day. with the new opening times for the first two terms its going to make it hard to do as much work as id like, especially as a third year who's starting dissertation research etc. i dont see the reason for early closure, there has been no problem in the library, theres cctv and you have to sign in with your student card at night anyway, they dont need to overstaff it just give us what were paying £8500 a year for, the money certainly dosent go towards car parking!
