While it may be derivative, there's certainly nothing offensive about the photo, nor does it show significant deviation from the level of taste expected in a senior photo. As long as seniors are allowed to submit their own photos, I see no legitimate grounds to disallow this one.

I definitely think you should be able to express yourself in your senior photo. I think it's the one time we should be allowed to show who we are in a yearbook. I hated my boring cookie-cutter senior photo.
