unreal, its shit like this that makes me wonder why we rely on these disgusting beings we call "police". i find it hard to believe that this young man was any threat towards two officers, not enough to use there fire arms. i truly hope justice is served here, towards these so called "officers". fuckin pigs, i hope they rott in jail, my sincere condolences go out to the family. good luck!

Unless someone was in immediate danger shooting Mr. Hayward is murder. Yes he had a knife, but if there isn't any immediate danger why push the issue, wait him out ! Where is the great training our police officers are supposed to have ? I believe what many officers told me 30 years ago, that the type of people being hired are going to endanger the public and other officers. That was 30 years ago and weekly their predictions are, proven correct.

I have a great deal of sympathy for the family of this unfortunate victim. We need to stand up as citizens and get something done about all police forces across the country running around killing people for no reason. There was absolutely no reason to shoot to kill James Hayward. He had a knife. So What!!! you overpower him NOT kill him.

There seems to be an awful lot of shoot to kill with the police. How about going to learn how to shoot and wound. Absolutely no need for all this killing by police. They should go back to basic training and learn how to subdue property. One man with a knife and the only way they can secure the situation is to kill him. B. S. This needs to be dealt with, officer who shot him should be fired and charged with murder.

What is wrong with some police. Non lethals should have been tried first. He didn't have a gun. How is that fare that the cops just instantly resort to that. I may have been young when me and James hung out the most, and I admit I don't recall many memories. But I wish I did, I wish I had known him more. He was family. You will be dearly missed James.

I would like to sign the petition where is it. I also ask the family of the young man to please contact me. I am the exectutive director of standing tall a social justice organization. there are actions that can be taken immediatley all the work we do is free. there are services the fmaily is entitled to as well but they can file a wrongful death law suit for one and a human rights complaint and a few other things Diane 250-902-9013 [email protected]

I am so utterly disgusted by this very sad and tragic outcome of what should have been a non lethal take down by police. There are many ways he could have been dealt with, and to shoot an upwards of 7 TIMES is unbelievable to me. And the worst part to me is leaving him in the sun in front of everyone in town is the most sickening to me. His poor family. I really hope you get the justice for him that he deserved in the first place.

Another example of the police thinking they can do whatever they want, they do not serve and protect anyone but themselves, as they demonstrated by opening fire in the middle of town and then executing the victim who was already on the ground. This is sickening

My thoughts go out to the family, especially my childhood friend Charles. This cop will be brought down, and justice will be served. We live in a world were cops have tasers, bean bags, mase , and our money pays for those guns and your training, so why not learn to shoot properly , from hunting my whole life I learned you take your one shot , to disable or to kill, these PIGS should be able to take down someone without u loading a clip into them like they are some street gangster who can't shoot properly . I am behind this 100%, we can't trust police to keep our towns safe anymore, and people are starting to realize, what kind of people become cops and what their mentalities are like. I hope this cop loses everything he has over his re action to James . Rip James.
