This can't be said enough, Mr. Church has been not only a great teacher and colleague to many people, but a true hero to some kids that need additional support. His heart and talent is one of a kind. I was beyond excited to know he was moving to Jefferson into my old classroom and without a doubt complete our 5th grade team. I know he has been missed and hope proper communications can secure him confidently back in the classroom where he belongs.

Mr. Church is an accomplished and effective teacher, his history in Pullman demonstrates this clearly. The Pullman school district, on the other hand, has demonstrated a disturbing lack of transparency by refusing to provide justification for Mr. Church's removal from the classroom. Moreover, the school administration rejects any requests for information by falsely asserting the need to 'respect Mr. Church's privacy' when no such situation exists. Mr. Church has indicated that he has not been told the reasons that have lead to the school administrators placing him on paid administrative leave. We parents cannot and will not tolerate an administration that refuses to reveal the rationale behind decisions that so profoundly affect our children's quality of education.

My son had Mr. Church two years ago and it was hands down the best year of his elementary years. Mr. Church challenged him to think and he taught in ways that worked for each of his students. I wish we had more teachers like him!

Mr. Church is an incredible teacher and has contributed so much to this community. His teaching style brings learning to life. He is able to connect STEM education to real life. My son misses his teacher and the excitement he brings to learning. My family and our community want answers. I want him back where he belongs...with his students who adore him.

All three of our kids 16,14,12 had Mr. Church. Best teacher in the district, maybe in the state. Inspired our kids to achieve more through after school robotics and rocketry programs. What foolishness has kept him away? Bring him back now, before we lose him forever!!

I hope this petition and the Daily News article encourages transparency. The disregard and lack of communication is inappropriate to the students, parents, and staff.

My son never had Mr Church as a classroom teacher, but did have him as a teacher last year at 5th grade camp and loved him. My son saw the front page of the paper this morning and was full of questions. And frankly so am I. Mr Church obviously has changed lives of many students. Why would he be taken out of the classroom for this length of time with no communication right away with the Jefferson families?

We, as parents and tax payers deserve to know why we have teachers being paid to be at home. We have a right to know if our children have been put in compromised situations. Our children, have a right to understand why their teacher had suddenly "disappeared ". We want answers. We want action.

I agree whole heartedly with Linhda Sagen, Jefferson families have a right to know what is going on with their teachers. I believe Mr .Church should be allowed to return to his classroom where he belongs, doing what he does best. All of his co workers and students miss him and Jefferson is missing out on having such a great teacher there. Not to mention that Mr. Church is a favorite teacher at 5th Grade Camp! Whatever happened needs to be explained to all jefferson families. After all our children are in this school daily and we have a right to know if something has occured in our school. PLEASE share and bring back Mr. Church!

Mr. Church is a wonderful teacher. He was my oldest daughters 4th grade teacher and my youngest daughters 5th grade math teacher. He was absolutely fantastic and both of my daughters thrived in his class. We need more wonderful teachers like him.

Mr. Church was my daughter's 5th grade teacher last year and she really enjoyed his classroom. Most importantly, he inspired her interest in science which has continued into 6th grade. I am also signing this petition to advocate for improved communication between the district administration and parents.
